Ahh! I’m late to the party reading this (despite being tagged!). I blame the fact I was laid up with Covid. I loved reading through your process, and how you thought about the feelings you wanted to create in the final illustrations. I love the final outcomes - just beautiful!! So glad my advice was helpful in the end. (Don’t you find sometimes that advice that ends up being helpful can feel just really damn annoying at first!?) xxxx
Wonderful illustrations, the bright orange really catch our attention 🤩 and I can think in so many stories looking at these, love when that happens! 🤞 good luck for Bologna 🧡
oooh yes to all of this Ruby! Ella is so wise - so easy to forget it though - but you're right, it shines through here! Such beauty and poignancy to these pieces. I love the drawings and the prints!
YES to all of this Ruby! Your brilliant artwork, making work to please yourself, the utter utter shit that is MAFS UK, your fundraising endeavours and of course, Sydney Smith. I love it all.
Oh than you Nanette! I like Riso printing because you don't have all that much choice. I loved the neon orange in this one thought, Maria who printed them said it doesn't get used often enough. It's my new fave!
Maybe. But the problem you have is one I totally relate to. Never know when anything is good enough or interesting enough. Always a surprise when people like it 🤣 Which means it's often difficult to know what direction to take the work.
Nicola, you’re so kind, thank you!

The final five images are lovely Ruby, so striking - and super to see the progression, and integration between your preparation and finals.
Ah Tor that’s so nice of you and really lovely to hear!

You’re right that it’s easy to forget, especially when there’s a deadline!

We’re so aligned! This makes me happy. Thanks Naomi!
Really really gorgeous! Thank you for sharing. (Sadness and humor is such a poignant combination.) :( :)
Oh thank you KJ, I’m so glad you think so too!
Both the drawings and the prints are fantastic Ruby! I really love how you use colour when you take your images into print 🤩

Wonderful illustrations, fingers crossed for Bologna!
Thank you so much Jane! Might you be going?
You never know! I’ve been a couple of times and I did love it...
So lovely Ruby. Great to see the progression but same as Anna, LOVE BOTH! X
Ahh youguyz! I just feel lucky that I had the time to play a bit. We all need that don't we! X
Yes please! X
They’re totally gorgeous Ruby. I like the sketches AND the prints ❤️
That's lovely of you Anna! Maybe when you can stick with the same image through several iterations you know it's the right thing to be drawing!

It's often surprising what people like isn't it? But I do think Ella is right. And at least if it isn't widely adored we've had fun making it!
